Life took charge end of April 2011 and I have been non-stop since! In a fresh switch from Fashion PR I have entered the fashion world of Wholesale. Just spent the last week in Cali though, and I have been re-inspired in my conquest. As a lifelong New Yorker I already had all my preconceived notions of the West Coast, but I was wrong. Los Angeles is doable and I am VERY tempted to leave my fast-paced, no bullshit, couture sense of being, fashion base on the East Coast for a sleepy, easy come easy go, working to live (not living to work) state of mind fashion in Los Angeles..... What to do? What to do?

Obsession: Marc Jacobs Handbag(s)

Baby Aidan? Baby Groovee? Which one to choose! I have always been in love with Marc Jacobs's handbags, but I am currently obsessed with Marc Jacobs Baby Aidan & Groovee more than ever. But which to choose?! Time to start saving for these moderately priced glorious bags. The only decisions to make aren't SHOULD I get the bag, but how SOON can I get the bag? which one? and which color? I love the sizes, the shapes, the colors... I am in need of a Marc Jacobs Handbag ASAP, pretty please! With sugar on top ;)

Bill Cunningham; New York

After receiving a flyer to see the "Bill Cunningham New York" movie, right away I was intrigued. Bill Cunningham is a legend, who has paved the way for numerous street-style bloggers today. Capturing the fashion show that is present on a daily basis on the glorious New York streets, no one could properly portray the true New York fashionista like Bill. A must-see film for any fashion and/or photography buff, "Bill Cunningham New York" is a gem of a documentary. I absolutely LOVED it! It is showing at the Film Forum in NEw York for a limited 2 week engagement, and afterwards nationwide. Go see it!

Paris Fashion Week

After completely missing the boat on Milan Fashion Week (my bad!), Paris Fashion Week is in full swing and has caught my attention, and it wasn't just Lady Gaga's walk-off at Mugler. I have to say, there was alot of buzz surrounding Zac Posen's decision to show in Paris rather than his usual home in New York, but the wait was worth it. Hands-down, at this point, my favorite collection. From the trousers, to the tailored blazers, and the dramatic dresses; absolute perfection! Here are some of my favorite looks so far from Zac Posen. London Fashion Week Obsession!

SUPER obsessed with Burberry Prorsum FW'11 outerwear, and not to mention those shoes! Oh-my-gosh!! The things I wouldn't do for those shoes. And the little, red cropped jacket (below) to die for! Kind of similar to one L.A.M.B. showed last week at New York Fashion week, so I am definetly going to invest in that jacket come Fall. But the shoes! Oh the shoes!! A must-have.

New York Fashion Week Round-up!

New York Fashion Week has once again come and gone, and SO many designers amazed with their Fall 2011 Collections. I am sure most critics considered the Marc Jacobs show the best, but here I have narrowed down my top 3 designer shows, as well as the looks from each show, that I consider the best. (Spoiler alert: Marc Jacobs isn't one of them). Enjoy!

Number 1 goes to the Queen herself, Carolina Herrera. From the suiting to the floor sweeping gowns, the entire collection was exquisite. Classic, feminine, and complimentary to every silhouette; always Caroline Herrera's staple calling card:

Number 2 goes to Mr. Naeem Khan, absolutely breathtaking. Although mostly gowns, the beading, the attention to detail, the drama... every new piece that came down the runway was jaw-dropping and inspiring:

And rounding out my Top 3 is the always dramatic, Marchesa. Although some pieces of the collection seemed like mere replicas of past Marchesa collections, with only a hemline altered or color changed, these looks more than made up for it:

NYFW: Richard Chai Womens FW'11

Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week is in full swing! Luckily I was able to attend opening day yesterday to see the Richard Chai Women's Collection. The show, scheduled for 11:00am, began around 11:40am. It was actually quite a small venue compared to the size of some of the other tents at Lincoln Center, but nonetheless it did not take away from Richard Chai's Fall collection.

There was still a very much Marc Jacobs influence present in his collection, but customized for Chai's own personal style and embodied with his signature twist. The show began with very heavy, oversized grey and brown coats and jackets, layered over long, floor-grazing full skirts, with gorgeous flow and movement. These looks seamlessly eased into the dresses and more long skirts, with asymmetrical ruffled trims, and more volume. The surprise was the full large, sequin top which emerged with great presence. The gold sequins, although mostly large, were paired with smaller ones in silver, black and bronze. Handsdown my favorite look, seen not so clearly below (I got overexcited and shook the camera). The dark browns and greys were broken up by more chocolates and creams as well as hints of dark, pansy purples. Overall the ease and effortless chic to expect from a Richard Chai Women's collection for the Fall.
